A recently qualified garden designer transformed a blank canvas garden into a vibrant space with an Alitex greenhouse. After years of dreaming and careful planning, the greenhouse became a cherished focal point, enhancing both gardening and relaxation.
Bespoke greenhouse
Project Overview
Around 10-15 years ago, a passionate gardener first came across Alitex through the RHS magazine, sparking a long-held dream of owning a greenhouse. This dream grew over time, especially after attending the Chelsea Flower Shows, where the quality and engineering of Alitex greenhouses left a lasting impression.
After moving to a new build property in Hampshire, with a blank canvas of a garden, the time had finally come to bring this dream to life. As a recently qualified garden designer, having completed a diploma course in London, the homeowner envisioned a greenhouse as a focal point in the garden, blending professional knowledge with personal passion.
The decision to choose Alitex was solidified after visiting their factory on an Open Day. Seeing the greenhouses in person and the opportunity to visit another customer’s established Tatton model helped in selecting the perfect size and style. The chosen color was carefully picked to complement both the garden and a nearby summerhouse.
Installed in June 2023, the greenhouse has transformed the garden, becoming the first port of call when stepping outside. It’s a space that invites year-round use, whether for checking on seedlings, tending to plants, or simply enjoying the atmosphere, regardless of the weather. The adjacent raised beds, used for cut flowers, further enhance the garden’s beauty.
One piece of advice for others considering an Alitex greenhouse is to think carefully about the size. Initially considering a smaller model, the homeowner opted for a larger one and has no regrets. Viewing another customer’s greenhouse in-situ proved invaluable and is highly recommended.
