Thrive is a small national charity that uses gardening to change lives. Thrive helps people with a disability use gardening to improve their health and wellbeing. It brings profound change to people recovering from stroke or living with heart disease. Also those coping with physical disabilities, sight loss, recovering from an accident or coping with early stage dementia. Thrive's Battersea Garden Project is in the process of a £839k redevelopment which will increase significantly the range of gardening opportunities and the number of disabled Londoners able to benefit from attending the garden project. A key element in that process is production capacity, the ability to grow stock for three gardens and retail activities. They didn't just want an industrial production unit, they wanted something which would reflect the heritage of their site, in one of London's finest Victorian parks. The Alitex bespoke glasshouse has enabled them to do all these things.
