To utilise and maximise the space available to create a kitchen extension.
The need to work closely with local Sussex planning officers, as the building is a listed Georgian cottage, and to consider and calculate U-values to satisfy building control.
Alitex needed to design the removal of a chimney and the relocation of an oil tank. The construction elements of this project allowed the introduction of higher performance insulation to the supporting walls.
The final design was complemented by a 100% glazed hipped roof to maximise light ingress.
Alitex took full responsibility for the supply and installation of the aluminium and glass content of the project, supplying structural calculations and U-vales to a local architect who was responsible for the project management.
